The Ruhr Valley is a region known throughout the world for its football exports, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke. But it’s also the heart of German football. COVID-19 has forced the stadiums in the region to remain empty for weeks and fans to stay away for the foreseeable future. German football’s heart is hurt and bleeding, will it survive the pandemic?
