Somali human rights activist Ilwad Elman has won a 2022 Right Livelihood Award. The 31-year-old uses groundbreaking techniques — and plenty of compassion — to help former child soldiers and rape survivors in Mogadishu to deal with trauma and adjust to civilian life.
