Even when outside temperatures are as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius, the body can warm inhaled air enough to avoid harm to the bronchi. Joggers in the wintertime should breathe in through their noses to give the air the opportunity to heat up. Anyone training in icy weather should start off with a reasonable level of health and aerobic endurance.
