Winter rain deepens the ordeal of displaced Gazans in tents

Palestinians sheltering in makeshift tents have been hit by the first winter rains, soaking what little they have. The population is now enduring a third winter of war with no prospect of returning to normal life.

The UN estimates that about 90% of homes in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed, leaving almost the entire population displaced as winter arrives.

Over a million people now live in fragile tents in shanty towns, while others remain in war-damaged houses at risk of collapse.
