Wireless Internet in Cuba

Cuba ranks among the countries with the worst internet connectivity worldwide. Now Cuba’s government has set up 35 wireless hotspots at public locations, making access a lot easier.

Most of Cuba’s population is still offline. Only about five percent of Cubans have internet access. Since 2013, about 150 internet cafes have opened on the island, but they’re unaffordable for most Cubans. At the new wireless hotspots, surfing costs only half as much – and they’re very much in demand.
