With nukes poised for a comeback, a new look at waste disposal

Concern is growing among nuclear energy opponents in Germany that the country's newly elected leadership team - Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats and the business-friendly Free Democrats - will backpedal on the planned closure of nuclear plants by 2020. The parties cite concerns about dwindling energy supplies, high oil prices and global warming to justify their push to hold on to nuclear energy. But what to do about that old problem, nuclear waste? Louise Potterton has traveled to Sweden to look at a deep-disposal repository for nuclear waste that they are proposing as a solution.
