Wolfgang Wagner, organizer of the Bayreuth Music festivals has died. He was 90. Wagner was the grandson of the of the famous composer, Richard Wagner. In 1951 Wolfgang took control of the annual festivals with his brother, Wieland. When his brother died in 1966 he took sole control. But he withdrew from organizing the event about 18 months ago, following often heated public debate about the way the festival should be run.
