Workers in France walk out of their jobs to demand more action against rising unemployment

Hundreds of thousands of French workers have staged a one-day nationwide strike. They want President Nicolas Sarkozy and business leaders to do more to protect jobs and wages during the economic crisis. It was called by eight national unions and has led to major disruptions, including the cancellations of many flights. It's the first nationwide protest being linked to the global economic crisis to hit a major industrial country.
