Berlin is everywhere, even in Bolivia, Papua New Guinea or Russia! There are more than 100 places worldwide with this name. The documentary “Worldwide Berlin” shows a day in Berlin, the German capital, and six other Berlins around the globe.

It tells stories from distant, exotic worlds that are connected by the name Berlin. It effortlessly negotiates kilometers, climates and time zones, alternating between Bolivia, Guinea, Germany, El Salvador, Ohio, Papua New Guinea and Russia - and always lands in Berlin. The four-part film will start on DW on January 10, 2015. It uses a 24-hourformat and starts early in the morning with a street cleaner on Berlin Alexanderplatz, then moves to Berlin in Russia, to meet a bus driver ferrying children to school through the icy cold, whilst in Berlin, Papua New Guinea, it’s already afternoon and children are bathing in the sea and a fisherman going home with the day’s catch.
