In Sudan, more than 2,500 people have died of cholera during a year-long outbreak. The country's civil war has displaced millions and destroyed medical and sanitation infrastructure.

Sudan is battling its worst cholera outbreak in years, with nearly 100,000 suspected cases and over 2,500 deaths. After two months in hospital, survivor Mutasim Azhari shares his ordeal. War has crippled access to clean water and healthcare, fueling the spread. In Gedaref State, doctors warn contaminated food and water are driving infections. Vaccination efforts are underway, but conflict limits access, leaving many at risk.
