For many facing a bleak future in their home countries, Europe represents the continent of opportunity. Some risk their lives to get there. But rather than encountering openness, they're running into closed doors. Unable to work, they're stuck in limbo at refugee camps while they wait for their cases to be processed.

After an Iranian asylum seeker committed suicide at an accommodation facility in Germany, asylum seekers organized a protest march across the country. After arriving in Berlin a few months ago, they set up camp in the middle of town. Their living conditions may be poor, but they're determined to stay put.
