From viral satire to party politics, Nigerians are finding new ways to make their voices heard — and shape their democracy's destiny.

Young Nigerians are expected to benefit from democratic governance, considering the influence of their large voting population during elections. However, unemployment and the rising cost of living have pushed many of them to rethink how they can contribute toward ensuring good leadership within their country’s democracy.

Young activist Musa Turajo uses satire and humor to communicate messages aimed at encouraging positive change. The short cartoon videos he creates and shares online are designed to enlighten the public and help people distinguish between politics that promotes development and politics driven by personal interests.
