As Thailand heads to the polls, the progressive People's Party is garnering strong support from young voters by campaigning on political reform, stronger economic competition and curbing military influence on government.

Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, the new face of Thailand's progressive People's Party, hopes to lead the country after his party won the last election but was pushed into opposition.

Young voters remain key, while conservative rivals such as Bhumjaithai campaigned with fresh candidates and promised "change" of their own.

With rising nationalism and border tensions with Cambodia shaping the race, Thailand is heading for tough coalition battles.
