Los fragmentos que no se quemaron al ingresar en la atmósfera terrestre cayeron al mar en torno a las 16:45 GMT, dijo el portavoz del Ministerio de Defensa ruso, Alexei Solotuchin.
Según Interfax, las autoridades registraron la caída desde estaciones terrestres. Por el momento, se desconocen más detalles del lugar en que cayó.
Los expertos corrigieron sus pronósticos una y otra vez y finalmente habían señalado el Atlántico como lugar del impacto.
Las sustancias tóxicas del tanque de combustible y el cobalto radiactivo que llevaba a bordo se quemaron, según la agencia rusa Roskosmos. La misma fuente señaló que la sonda, de 13,5 toneladas de peso, iba a quedar destruida por el calor al ingresar en la atmósfera terrestre. dpa
