Plusieurs dizaines de personnes parmi lesquelles des militaires haut gradés sont emprisonnées depuis 2007. Ils sont soupconnés d'avoir crée le réseau "Ergenekon" pour fomenter un coup d'état contre le gouvernement de Tayyip Erdogan.
