歐盟增加難民援助資金

歐盟委員會主席巴羅佐(José Manuel Barroso)在訪問義大利蘭佩杜薩島時宣佈,歐盟額外增加3000萬歐元的難民援助資金。巴羅佐同時承諾,為防止上周的悲劇重演,加強對歐盟邊境保護機構Frontex的工作支持。巴羅佐與義大利總理萊塔(Enrico Letta)一同上島,以更好地瞭解島上的情況。萊塔說,義大利會為沉船事故的遇難者舉行國葬。在上周四的事故中,一條載有約500名難民的船隻起火,其中僅有155人獲救。該事件導致了發展援助組織對歐洲難民政策的嚴厲批評。「支持難民」(Pro Asyl)組織稱,歐盟內政部長本周二會議上的延續隔離政策的決定,將無法阻止類似事件的再次發生。
