美國、歐盟和日本在對待稀土緊缺的問題上達成一致。美國能源部部長朱棣文周三在東京召開的相關會議上表示,從中期來看,通過更為有效的方式使用和再利用可以緩解稀土能源緊缺的問題。中國出口的稀土佔世界稀土貿易總量的90%。過去幾年北京方面減少了稀土出口量,美國、歐盟和日本為此向世貿組織提起訴訟,要求中國擴大稀土出口,滿足市場需求。
