联邦德国外交部长韦斯特韦勒呼吁埃及下届总统深化国家的民主改革。韦斯特韦勒周一(6月18日)通过德国电台表示,埃及新总统必须以令人信服的方式表明将致力于推动国家的民主转型,同时,新总统必须能够代表所有埃及人,并确保内外和平。韦斯特韦勒不愿意就选举的结果表态,不过,他指出,此次选举“总体上自由、公平与平静”。上周末,埃及选民投票选举国家下届总统。温和派伊斯兰政党—穆斯林兄弟会举行记者会宣布,该党竞选人穆尔希(Mohammed Morsi)得到52.5% 的选票,从而当选,其竞争对手、前总理沙菲克(Ahmed Schafik)的竞选班子予以否认。
